Piha Ratepayers and Residents Assn. AGM

Piha R & R Assn. held a very successful AGM last Saturday 30th Jan. wiyth a good attendance of interested members.

Guest Speaker Adrian Reigen spoke about his work banding birds on the West Coast; including the Piha Area, and provided a n informative insight into the current status of the common bird species in our area, and the issues each face with the ever changing environment and threats to their continued existance.

Committee: Elected at the AGM were: Dan Real, President; Brett Ngawaka, Vice President; Nicky Harvey, Secretary; and Committee members Lee Armitstead, Geoff Calvert, Graeme Carrie, Ken Cowan, Clare Dobson, and Ron Gorter.

Protect Piha Rockpools: Luella Bartlet made a compelling presentatation on the dangers that the West Coast intertidal zone faces, and the Piha R&R Committee looks forward to supporting her efforts with Auckland Council and the Government.
