Piha Domain Upgrade - Revised Proposal

Piha R&R has received the following letter and pictures from Auckland Council.

We are writing to inform you about a series of proposed upgrades within Piha Domain. As a key stakeholder, we want to ensure you are aware of the planned improvements and have the opportunity to stay engaged as the project progresses.

 The attached flyer is now on display at the following locations:

  • Piha Store

  • Piha Community Library

  • Piha Post Office

  • Piha Preschool

  • Piha Bowling Club

  • Piha West Coast Gallery

 The proposed improvements will:

  • Reduce unsafe driving within the reserve through the addition of new gardens and bollards.

  • Protect the lagoon foreshore by installing bollards to better manage parking.

  • Create recreational space on the lagoon foreshore, including new picnic tables and shade trees.

  • Upgrade the driveway and playground carpark through resurfacing and edging work.

 These works are proposed to occur between February and May 2026, with scheduling planned to avoid school holidays and Easter. A firm timeline will be confirmed and shared once available.

 These changes aim to enhance safety, protect the natural environment, and improve the overall visitor experience at Piha Domain.
