Piha R&R News Update - 19th March
Membership: We encourage all members of the Piha community to become members. Strong membership gives us a strong voice to advocate with Council for improved services, maintenance and infrastructure for Piha. Fees are currently $10 per member for the year. Road Repairs: Chip-sealing of Seaview Road, between Pendrell Road and Marine parade North is due to commence on 19th March. Drive slow and avoid sharp turns and heavy braking to protect the road and keep tar of your vehicle until the the work is complete and the road swept.
Piha Resilience Plan: We are working hard on design of printed materials for distribution, but it is a complex issue and we need to get it right. We are still seeking for volunteer “Cluster Coordinators.” Please Contact US if you are interested in being involved, or call Ken Cowan 0211 269 171
Auckland Council Storm Recovery: We continue to work with our contacts at Auckland Transport and Auckland Council to get action on stormwater drain clearnce and stormwater flooding mitication. Plans for North and South Piha stormwater flooding mitication are being finalised Piha hill is on the list.
Skate Park: The now active Piha Skatepark Sub-Committee is working to pull together as much support information as possible to support submissions to the Local Parks Management Plan Review later this year. Next meeting, 26th March, 7:00pm at the Bowler. This will be a challenging journey, but we have enthusiasm and determination on our side.
Treasurer: The Association Treasurer has retired and we are intyerested in hearing from anyone local who has Xero experience and may have an interest in getting involved. Email us for more information if interested.
