Rockin the Rāhui is a night of good-time grooves celebrating our kauri and its protectors, featuring live music from the one and only SWAMP THING and more!
Barnett Hall comes alive on Queen’s Birthday weekend to the rockin’ vibes and gritty swamp blues of Swamp Thing, joined by hot music from around the Waitākere Ranges, including Catherine Tunks and her Bona Fide Band, Te Henga Collective, and students from Rob’s School of Rock.
MC Snapper Thiele (The Nukes) hosts the night, brought to you from the Waitākere Rāhui team of Forest & Bird Waitākere, The Tree Council, Waitākere Ranges Protection Society and Toi Toi Music.
This collective celebration and thank you to our Waitākere communities is a positive celebration through music, art, rockin good boogie and maybe a bit of kauri education in the mix.
Get on in for Queen’s Birthday Weekend at the one and only Piha Beach.
Thanks to the The Kauri Dieback Management Programme for supporting this event.
